Hi, this is my first time I in participating this weekly photo challenge and as the topic for this week is culture, here are some of my shots.
ketupat is the typical food of the feast of the Moslem holiday called Idul Fitri. It made of young coconut leaves which are woven into diagonal form. Filled with rice and boiled for several hours. When the feast of Idul Fitri arrives then all the traditional markets in Indonesia, especially in Java will be filled with ketupat sellers.
It’s a new culture I guess even I did the same when I was a child. Still in Moslem holiday, most children will be go for shopping at the famous shopping center in the city. Most of them average at 7 – 12 years old even I saw some toddlers and without their parents! They came early before the store really open and just waiting at the back doors.
Traditional wedding dress. This is a Javanese traditional wedding dress, as the season on and on some of traditional wedding dress follow the mode but still some of the original dress looks stunning in modern world.
Those pictures, I can post hope you enjoy and have a lovely weekend 😀
